Cell phone rules (part II)
for any first time readers i would suggest scrolling down to the first cell phone rules so that you will be up to speed...in the past few months i have realized that my rules did not cover all the inconsistencies and careless cell phone behavior...Ergo part II.
Sloppy Joe Rule:
When sending a text message you must read back over your entire text to make sure it was readable. I know that you take pride in your ability to drive and one thumb a text out faster than a speeding bullet but i need to understand what you are saying. No more of this... " ehy what s you ts to" translation: hey what are you up to...take your time and make sure that your speed typing feature is relaying the proper message
Know It All Rule:
How many of us have gotten done working out or leaving the office or any activity that did not allow cell phone usage and get that annoying message that says, " hey it's so in so....i don't know why you cant answer you phone..." or a text that says, " i guess you don't want to talk"...the tone of these messages imply that they "know it all"...that they know where you are at all times, that they know what you are doing and there is no way in the world that you couldnt' answer your phone...You don't' know it all...My phone is not attached to my hip...so if i don't' answer don't act like i hate you...just realized that there is a slight possibility that maybe i don't have my phone on or nearby. If you continue with these insecurities then i may start hating you.
Can You Hear Me Now Rule:
Good. No not good. Nothing makes me want to throw my phone out of the window more than someone who cant accept the fact not every part of the world has a clear cell signal. I know that cingular has bought a t and t and verizon has more towers than Donald Trump but the fact of the matter is that there are gonna be some places that even the best Treo 650 won't be able to get a signal. Once your phone starts cutting in and out its time to let go. Just hang up the phone and wait till your car takes you to a place that has the appropriate signal. Now if you have bad signal at your house then it's time to get a new service provider. Dont' make your friends and family dread talking to you because all they get to hear is every third word of your conversation.
Contributing To The Delinquency of a Minor Rule:
This is for you mom's and dad's. If your child is not over the age of 13 then they do not need a cell phone. I have seen 8, 9 and 10 yr olds walking around and talking to their friends on a cell phone. Oh but Hansen...it's for their safety...what if there were in an emergency..? ok...well what if you were a good parent and did not let them got out places with their friends at such a young age...Heck...i didn't even have a good set of walkie talkies till i was at least 14/15 yrs old. And those would only reach about a mile away. So parents stop giving in to your kids. Kids stop acting like you are cool cause you are not...you still wet your bed...you are not ready for the cellular world yet.
